Objective
SOAJS Controller is a ready made service by SOAJS, it is the main gateway to its cloud of micro-services and could be deployed in any environment.
When there is a new update for the Controller, the Dashboard will notify you ( click here to see how ) so you can pull it and apply it.
Steps
- Locate the update notification
- Learn what the update is about
- Apply the update
Step 1
The Dashboard contains a notification system that informs you whenever new code updates are published by the SOAJS team for the SOAJS Controller that is deployed in any Environment.
These notifications appear in 2 places:
- Under Deploy pillar → Continuous Delivery → Ledger tab.
- Under Deploy pillar → High Availability - Cloud → notification icon next to each service deployed.
In High AvailabilityClouds & Deployments you only see a notification icon that there is a new update, whereas the Ledger provides you with a link so you can learn more about the update.
Step 2
Before you pull a any Controller Update in the any Environment, it is crucial you learn what the update is about as it might not be backward compatible or it might depend on an image upgrade.
The Controller is a ready made service and it is deployed in the dashboard environment by default when you install SOAJS therefore, the SOAJS Controller should be updated in the Dashboard environment first before you update it in any other environment.
Click Here to learn how to update the controller in the Dashboard Environment then repeat Step 2 of that page in the other environments you are working in.
Step 3
To apply the update, proceed by following the guidelines of Step 3 on this page: How to Update a SOAJS service/daemon code ?
